Dr. Thomas Fournier

I have closed down my private practice in Ottawa because I am now working full time at the military mental health clinic in Petawawa. To find a psychologist, you should go to the website of the Ottawa Academy of Psychology .

When life presents us with personal challenges, sometimes the best thing is simply to have an open and sincere conversation. Other times, therapy can make a world of difference. My job is to give you the services and support that suit you best.

I am a registered clinical psychologist, and I am currently accepting new clients. I have a PhD in psychology, and I am licensed by the College of Psychologists of Ontario. My qualifications are outlined here.

I offer assessments, counselling and therapy to adolescents, adults, and seniors. Visit my Services page for full details.

I help my clients with a wide range of personal and professional issues.

  • anxiety
  • burnout
  • conflict
  • depression
  • disability
  • family problems
  • grief
  • trauma (post traumatic stress disorder, PTSD)
  • paruresis (shy bladder)
  • relationships
  • spiritual issues, and many others

For more information about my areas of practice, please go to my Services page.

Because everyone’s needs and preferences are unique, I use a number of different approaches, all grounded in the science of psychology.

  • cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
  • experiential therapy
  • interpersonal therapy
  • client-centred therapy
  • psychodynamic therapy
  • schema therapy
  • hypnosis
